Binge eating disorder
This refers to out of control eating. However, like bulimia nervosa, these eaters do not resort to purging. They also do not exercise or take laxative or diuretics. Consequently, they are most often obese. As a result, they are guilt-ridden, embarrassed, and distressed, which further worsens their eating condition.
Being overweight, they are prone to heart problems and cardiovascular diseases.
You cannot ascertain the exact causes of all these disorders, but some factors can lead to these eating disorders. Biological factors such as genetics, nutritional deficiencies, and hormonal functioning could also be the reason.
Other causes could be career-oriented issues such as in modeling and ballet, and childhood trauma, dysfunctional family issues, etc. Whatever the cause, seeking professional help is always the best course of action.
