• The Thumbwheel
• Switch for Left Mouse Button (SW₃)
• Switch for Right Mouse Button (SW₂)
• Hollow Shaft Encoder
• Optical Sensor (U₁)
• LED Clip / Light Pipe: Note that the LED is hidden under this clip.
• External Transistor for Driving the LED (Q₁)
• Ceramic Resonator (Y₁)
• The PCB itself is single sided.
• R is used to set the LED current.
• Inductors L₁ & L₂ control noise on the PS/2 clock and data lines.
• Inductor L₃ acts as a low pass filter on the 3V supply.
• Integrated circuit U₃ is mounted on the reverse side of the PCB using chip-on-board technology.
